Students joining in 2017

Year 6 Transition to Calthorpe Park School

In the next few weeks you will be making an extremely important decision about your child’s secondary education.  In Fleet, we are fortunate to have two different, but excellent, secondary schools from which parents and students can choose.

To help you in that decision-making process, detailed information about the school can be found on our school website

We are delighted this year to report that the school has again celebrated some superb GCSE results with 86% achieving 5 or more A*- C grades and 78% gaining 5 A*-C, including Maths and English.  Over a third of all grades awarded were at A* or A and the progress made by our students across the curriculum was excellent.

Education is not, however, about results only.  As a school, we promote a much broader set of skills and dispositions, underpinned by care and support.  Our pastoral system is excellent, helping students whenever they need it and ensuring that our core community values of mutual respect, care and responsibility are always promoted.  We are recognized as a Rights Respecting School and as an Eco School, so reinforcing our commitment to these values.

The website contains much more information and detail, but visiting the school will give you a fuller and more personal experience.  You will be shown around by our students as they are always our very best advert.

We very much look forward to meeting you and your child at our Calthorpe Park School Open Evening which will be held on Wednesday, 5th October from 5:45pm to 9pm.  We will be talking to prospective parents and children in the school hall at 5:45pm and again at 7pm.  All subject areas will be open and there will be a wide variety of exhibitions and activities, with guided tours by our prefects from 6:15pm.

There are also opportunities to visit the school on a working day on our Open Mornings between 9.20am and 10.40am on Tuesday, 11th and Wednesday, 12th October.  On these mornings, you and your child will be able to tour the school, talk to students and staff and see how we operate on a day- to-day basis.

As Headteachers, we look forward to welcoming you into our school.  We, the staff, the Governors and the students look forward to meeting you.  Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact our school office.
