Teacher Award - March 2018
Calthorpe Park School teacher receives National Excellence Award from the prestigious Design and Technology Association
Congratulations to David Hainsworth, our Joint Head of Technology and STEM Coordinator whose amazing talents and commitment have been recognised nationally at the 18th Annual Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards.
On Friday 23rd March, at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in London, David received his award for his promotion of STEM learning opportunities and for his outstanding contribution to Design and Technology.
Awards were presented by Lesley Morris, Chair of the Design and Technology Association and by Tony Ryan, its Chief Executive who recognised David’s achievement, saying: “David is to be congratulated on his well-deserved award, and celebrated for going above and beyond what might be expected in his contributions to supporting the subject of Design and Technology. We know that employers across the advanced manufacturing and creative industries are already concerned about the real shortage of engineers and designers and we need more people like David to inspire future generations.”
Congratulations from us all, David. We are delighted for you and hugely proud that one of our Calthorpe Park teachers has been recognised nationally in this way.
